NetEnt The First Developer to Release a VR Game
Gamblers around the world have been waiting with baited breath for the next development in online casino games. NetEnt looked to be the first over the finish line when it revealed Gonzo’s Quest VR. The unveiling took place at the ICE Totally Gaming 2018 event. Microgaming also had some great new games to reveal, but nothing as earth-shattering as NetEnt. As well as the virtual reality slot, it also included advancements in its live casino gaming, a good selection of new branded games, and a media buying programme.
Gonzo’s Quest VR – A First for NetEnt
NetEnt blazed the way at ICE Totally, with the first ever, fully playable, operator ready version of its virtual reality game Gonzo’s Quest. It can be played via a web browser, and there is nothing special needed, apart from the appropriate headset. No download is required, so players can start playing straight away. All that’s required is an account with a casino that offers the game. Once logged in, using a desktop or mobile device, there is a VR tab to click on, and then the VR headset has to be plugged in. The game features real-time 3D and players can expect to be able to play the game sometime during the summer, when it is due to go live.
What Else Will NetEnt be Offering in 2018?
NetEnt has achieved a name for itself for always being at the forefront of technology advances. It has certainly pipped every other developer when it comes to virtual reality games. But that’s not all that this popular developer revealed at the event.
So far, there are three games that look set to be going live this year. The first is the Jumanji video slot. Then there are the Narcos and Vikings titles. Both of which will be tapping into a big chunk of the market. Both these TV series are very popular, not just in the USA but all over Europe too. Which means there are going to be plenty of willing players looking to enjoy the games.
Lovers of the NetEnt live casino games are going to be blown away with its new customised multi-table live concept. The first online casino to be making use of this will be Mr Green.
One other development worth mentioning is the collaboration with Ve Global, that will be creating a media buying programme that has the igaming industry in its sights. There will be much more personalisation available for casinos and this means audiences will be more effectively targetted and will hopefully allow for better retention of customers.
NetEnt continues to push the gaming boundaries, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It has also shown the industry how committed it is to responsible gaming with the release of a new website for the charity Gambling Therapy. The site includes a new and improved tool that provides advice as well as support for those affected by problem gambling.
There’s no denying that NetEnt continues to provide a wide-ranging and top quality selection of products and services.
